Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain VeneersPorcelain veneers?

Hello everyone. I had a question about porcelain veneers. I thought about them, but I had a question. I heard that the veneers last about 15-20, then you should replace them. Well, not veneers just start eroding? Do they start to fall? I do not understand. Is it something that happens under the veneer that others can not see? I would not do if, after 10 years, he began visibly flaking or something. I would appreciate the info from someone who knows. Thank you

There are a variety of reasons why veeners fail after 15-20 years as you say. Everything depends on several things:

1) how many teeth it replaces

Veneers are only small at the front should last nearly forever. they are not in contact with something, they do not extend to the back teeth or rub on everything except the lips, tongue, and air. Grand veneers are invited to make a little more and are not as strong

2) cement

cements today are damn better than the cement 30, 20 and even 10 years ago. Back in the 80s cements used are good for veneers and fixed only at the enamel portion of our teeth. So if these leaks all the time, discoloring the edge of the veena. cementing now everything enamal and dentin.

So how do they fail?

1) The most common is the leak. despite cements today, most are very sensitive and alittle technical error can go a long way.
2) Design: veeners are super easy to do, however, if you design them so as not to contact the opposing teeth or your tendency to eat rocks daily, you can get chips.

Most cost about $ 1500-2000 each, and personal worth. Asking your dentist to make over a little extra research involved, it can be a lot of money!
