Polar Running Coach Tips for running long distances? hey! I'm not much of the race, but to get conditioned for softball this polar bear I'm "running club thing, and my coach is having us run from our school to the main street , which is about 3 miles or more. We did it yesterday (we meet twice a week) and I barely made the 2 mile mark. What are tips for the race so far ? and what I can do during the race so I do not get winded and cramping up so early? Thank you! Well if you run climbing, you have to bend forward a bit and when you go down, you speed up a little and take the hill you have. Remember to PACE! It probabke hardest part. you should first take a glass of cold water, then run for 3 minutes, then for 2 minutes and then walk to the last street before the main street and do what you want to do next www.runnersworld.com Posted on March 4, 2010.
