Animal CPR and First

Pet CPR and First Aid is very important to know for each petowner. It makes a difference

for time until he can get to your veterinarian.

Step 1: The first step in CPR animals (like the man CPR) after the animal is dtermining

Non-responaive is to get Ann airway. Carefully pull the tongue straight out of the mouth of the animal to open the airway.

Step 2: Make sure the neck is reasonably straight, try to put the head in line with the neck.

Step 3. Attempt 2 rescue breaths, by closing the mouth, and performing ventilation mouth-to-nose. If they go in with no problems continue to B-breathing.

Step 4. If not, repositioin neck and try again step 3.

Step 5. Visibly inspect the airway by looking into the mouth and throat for foreign objects.

Step 6. Breathe 12 breaths per minute. With every breath just make the chest rise (not

not too swell, especially on a small AMINAL.

Step 7. Proceed to C-Circulation: Make sure there is no major (pooling / squirt blood)

bleeding points. Control if necessary by pressing it with your hand. Pulse

in the groin area.

Step 8. Place the animal on its right side, look for hands where its left elbow touches the chest, around the middle of the chest.

Step 9. Compress the chest 15 times follwed by two rescue breaths

Compress: 1 / 2 small dogs and cats a "dog of medium, 1.5" large dogs
