Linear Scale Is your scale lying about your weight? "I've been eating well and exercising for three days and my bathroom scale does not budge. What is the problem? " I imagine that you yourself have asked this question in exactly the same in the past. Maybe ask you now. And if you can honestly say that you have been through optimal feeding and you have been following an exercise routine optimal (keyword regularly) ... then you must take into account a very important fact. A fact I bet you just ease your mind and provide a quiet confidence that your head in the direction of "right". The fact is ... you're probably losing weight. Here's what I mean: Imagine that you weigh once in the morning when you get out of bed, then the next evening. At what time will the scale indicate that you are heavier? Most likely in the evening the next day. Here's why: You are fully weighed at different times. Yes, almost two days have passed, but the time you set foot on the ladder you are totally different. (Once the morning and once at night.) Then why is it so serious? You should assume that you have more food and fluids in your system to consume throughout the day ... even if one or two days have passed, it does not look like you lose weight. This does not mean you're not! And another reason the scale can be very misleading, is that weight loss tends to not be a linear process. This simply means that you probably will not lose a pound a day right until you reach your goal weight. More likely you will lose a pound a day ... gain of a half-pound back the next day. Gain another book back ... then lose two more. Did you this? The curve rises and falls in decreasing. This is not a "straight line" curve downward. There are several reasons for this. But most of the time, your body is simply adjusting to new demands you place on it. This "adjustment" causes funny things to happen. But the bottom line is that it is very unlikely that you will see the estimated values of the fall of your body weight in one, two or even three days. Therefore you must understand that the scale can be your worst enemy. How many people are discouraged and quit trying to lose weight simply because they do not see the scale move? The number is impressive! My advice ... weigh yourself once a week. Getting out of bed on Monday morning and get on the scales. Then spend the next seven days always following an optimal plan. Then go ahead and step on the scale bathroom again on Monday morning. It is the most accurate approach to measure your weight and I bet you will see a significant difference. It will also avoid unnecessarily discourage you when you're losing weight. Posted on February 9, 2010.
