Insulin Syringe Sizes

Insulin Syringe SizesFor a diabetic patient with poor vision and hearing you: insulin control) and syringes?

b) teach him to use a magnifying glass, c) large educational materials d) all of the

I suggest not to use a magnifying glass on the syringes. Because of the distortion, it is very difficult to obtain an accurate dose.

Fundamentally, diabetic blind or have two options.

A: Use of syringes with an account of the environment-blind dose-, which is difficult to find, but very useful with you can. These unfortunately only work with syringes of 100 units.

B: Use an insulin pen, that they are usually completely blind to the environment.

Again, I suggest you use a magnifying glass on insulin syringes. Distortion + limits of your vision, making you even inject an additional unit of NovoLog, may drop in glucose healthy beaches dangerous .. and it is a real risk that you take!

Re syringes of insulin and control .. least for another reason, they have trouble traveling (ie, they are very old) do not do it for them. That is to say: "You're not even independent enough to manage the pharmacy or on-line orders, which everyone deaf and blind without major cognitive impairment should be able to do.

All the above.

I am diabetic and having friends who have vision problems. First, make orders for supplies it will really help. Teach clients to use a magnifying glass is also a plus. Buying a phone with a lot helps a lot. Or you can choose to spend a little more and have a voice caller ID. Large companies educational materials may help, but is not really necessary if it learns to use a magnifying glass.

Diabetes is terrible. I pray every day for a cure to be found. It is frightening to think of moments of all the damage it is causing on our bodies ... if we do our best to control it or let it go. It seems that the more you struggle, the more it works for you down, but I will continue to lead the fight!

May God bless you, Darlin '!
