Diabetic Bracelets Making stylish beaded bracelets with diabetes??? On the Internet, I looked around pretty bracelets diabetes and basically what I saw was a string of beads as $ 60. I know I could def. I make these, but what kind of cord do I use the string the pearls? Perhaps the memory wire of metal? Or ......? I'm not sure. There are many things you can use for your string of pearls. thread of memory, while durable, will not be the best bet for this use. If you do not want to mess around with a clip, elastic cord will be your best bet (I do not like it because knots can be undone and then your beads are everywhere). If you're willing to take a little extra time and add a clasp, I would use a nylon string (if your pearls are really small) or linseed wax (if the beads have holes bigger). wax linen is the strongest thread that I've ever used, and it is wet will not kill. Nylon will be the next step down, strength wise, but still very solid. If it will be worn as often as they should be aware that you should periodically restring - ie after a few years (which is the nature of beaded jewelry). elastic cord, which is readily available right next to all the material of pearls to your local Joanne Fabrics, Michaels or your local shop hobby. If you go to a craft store, usually by the beads they put on a cord type material that is ideal for stringing beads. I do not recommend the wire. what is a diabetic bracelet? Is this for charity? or bracelet for detecting low blood glucose or high? to be more precise. This is my fave store to buy pearls. Their prices are very reasonable and you can get everything you need to make great jewelry. Shipping is free too. Go to a craft and hobby store and explore your options. You can get beads and cord or string as a package deal. Excellent idea! Posted on March 7, 2010.
