Walking 10,000 steps a day - a "When" Checklist Here is a checklist to help you determine when you can walk to a very beneficial purpose than 10,000 steps per day:
[_] Can you wake up thirty minutes - or even one hour - earlier than normal and use this time to walk?
[_] Depending on where you live, a television in prime time may have a maximum of fifteen minutes or more commercials per hour. If you walk in front of your TV in all advertisements, how many minutes a day would it be?
[_] When you go to the grocery store, pharmacy or other store near them, how long can you spend walking each way?
[_] When you arrival and departure of your office building where you normally take an elevator for your floor, respectively, how long can you spend ascending and descending the stairs?
[_] When you're on a conference call, how long the meeting may be used for walking?
[_] When you meet in person with others, how the meeting can turn you into a meeting to work?
[_] Whenever you go to the toilet during a work day, how long does it take to walk in each direction? (Multiply the number of response time toilet trips / day.)
[_] When you go at noon during a work day, how long does it take to walk to and from your room (or the local coffee shop or restaurant)?
[_] When you take a break in the afternoon, how can you walk in your spare time?
[_] If you can walk to and from your place of worship, how long does it take to walk in each direction?
[_] If you are a student living in a dorm, how long will it take to walk from your dorm to your first class? Between classes?
[_] At the end of a day, how long can you put aside for a nice walk?
[_] When you take your children or grandchildren at their sessions in sports or games, how many times can you walk in these sessions or games?
[_] If you park in a large shopping center, how far from your destination store can you park to maximize your progress during your shopping?
[_] When you're waiting for someone to meet you (for example, a restaurant), how far your specific meeting point can you walk and then only a few minutes after the person arrives there?
[_] When you're ahead for an appointment (Dentist), how many steps can you walk before your actual appointment?
[_] When you mow your lawn or perform other gardening activities such as raking leaves, how many times can you walk in both directions?
An adult should walk for one hour and fifteen minutes to complete the measures 10K. If the answers to at least some of these questions can be accumulated in at least as much time, then you've found where you can walk throughout your day to achieve your goal 10K-steps/day!
